Step-by-step process

1

Get your deed poll or marriage cert

Before applying, you'll need either a signed deed poll (for a general name change) or your marriage certificate (if changing your name after marriage). Make certified copies of your deed poll if applicable.

2

Complete the Passport Online application

Visit Passport Online (passportonline.ie) — the fastest and cheapest method. Select "Renewal" for most applicants, or "New Adult Passport" if yours is expired or you need to update from an old name.
